Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 2, 2026
FlashBell is operated by Erbacci LTD ("we", "us"). FlashBell is an accessibility convenience for Ring users: it turns Ring doorbell presses and motion events into alerts you can see and feel. This policy explains exactly what data FlashBell collects, why, how long it is kept, who processes it, and how you can delete it. Questions: support@erbacciltd.com.
1. Data we collect
FlashBell collects only what is needed to deliver alerts to your household. We collect:
- Ring account identifier and email address. When you link FlashBell from the Ring app, Ring provides us with your Ring account identifier and the email address of your Ring account. The email is used as your sign-in identity.
- Household member contact details. If you invite household members, we store the email address (and optional name) you provide for each member, so we can send their invitation and deliver alerts to them.
- Device metadata. The names, types, and online/offline status of the Ring doorbells and cameras you connected to FlashBell, plus your per-device preferences (alerts on/off, vibration pattern).
- Event data. Timestamps of doorbell presses and motion events, together with the motion category labels that Ring provides (for example "person" or "vehicle"). We do not receive or store video or audio recordings.
- Image Snapshots. For each alert, FlashBell may fetch a single still snapshot of the event from Ring so we can show it to you inside the alert. Snapshots are displayed to you and your household only — they are never analyzed: no AI, no computer-vision, no face recognition, no automated processing of image content of any kind. Snapshots are retained for a maximum of 48 hours and then automatically deleted.
- Alert history. The list of alerts (event type, device, time, who acknowledged) is kept for 7 days and then automatically deleted.
- Push delivery tokens. The device tokens issued by Apple or Google that let us deliver push notifications to your phones.
- Settings. Your alert preferences (repeat count and interval, motion types, quiet hours and their timezone offset, display name).
- Sign-in codes. One-time sign-in codes are stored only as cryptographic hashes, expire after 10 minutes, and are deleted on use.
What we do not collect: no video or audio recordings, no live streams, no location data, no payment details (billing is handled entirely by Ring), no advertising identifiers.
2. How we use data
We use the data above solely to operate FlashBell: delivering alerts to your household, showing you the event snapshot, letting any member acknowledge for everyone, and signing you in. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics resale, or AI training.
3. Emails we send
FlashBell sends transactional emails only. There are three kinds, and no others:
- Sign-in codes — the 6-digit code you asked for, sent to the email address on your Ring account.
- Household invitations — sent only when a household owner explicitly invites that address.
- Subscription and account notices — a short message when your free trial is ending (about a week before, three days before, and the day before), and one if your alerts are paused because the subscription ended. These tell you the state of your own account; they never contain offers, discounts, or prices. You can turn them off at any time in FlashBell → Settings → Email notices, and every one of them carries that instruction. Turning them off does not affect sign-in codes, which you need to access your account.
We do not send marketing or promotional email, we do not use your data to advertise to you, and we do not share your address with anyone for marketing. FlashBell never sends a second free trial offer or a discount, because Ring's billing does not support them.
4. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Image Snapshots | Maximum 48 hours, then automatically deleted |
| Alert history | 7 days, then automatically deleted |
| Sign-in codes | 10 minutes (hash only), deleted on use |
| Account, devices, members, settings, Ring link tokens | Until you delete your account or unlink FlashBell from the Ring app |
| Diagnostic logs (technical events only — no snapshots, no email addresses) | 30 days, then automatically deleted |
5. Third parties and sub-processors
We share data only with the service providers required to run FlashBell:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting and infrastructure (servers, database, snapshot storage).
- Resend — delivery of transactional emails (sign-in codes, household invitations, subscription and account notices).
- Apple and Google — delivery of push notifications to your devices.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for marketing. We do not share your data with law enforcement, and FlashBell has no law-enforcement integrations or sharing programs.
6. Deleting your data
The fastest way is in the app: open your FlashBell dashboard and go to Settings → Delete account & all data. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it purges your alert history, snapshots, device settings, household members, preferences, and the tokens linking FlashBell to your Ring account.
Unlinking FlashBell from the Ring app (Ring My Apps) also triggers a full purge of your data on our side.
You can also email support@erbacciltd.com from your account email and we will delete your data for you.
7. Data protection
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access credentials for the Ring API are held server-side only and are never exposed to your browser or shared with third parties. Sign-in is passwordless: there is no password to store, leak, or phish.
8. Children
FlashBell is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
9. Your Ring data and where FlashBell runs
FlashBell receives data from Ring only through the official Ring API, under the permissions you grant when you link the app from the Ring Appstore. You can review or remove that link at any time in the Ring app (Ring My Apps) or at account.ring.com/account/integrations. FlashBell is offered in the United States; data is processed on AWS infrastructure in the United States.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated version at this address with a new effective date before the changes take effect.
